Only Lovers Left Alive

Adam, a vampire underground musician, deeply depressed by the direction of human activities reunites with his resilient and enigmatic lover, Eve. 

I was so hypnotized by this movie that I forgot I was eating dinner while I was watching it. It doesn't happen anything out of the ordinary but it couldn't look away.

I fell in love with the movie though, even though it nothing happens and they don't explain anything the movie is how I always wanted a vampire movies to be, even though I didn't knew it. I somehow wish I could become like Eve or even Adam to live for a long while and just read everything you want, and educate myself like I want to. And because of that, the fact they have been around for so long, it has all these amazing cultural references, to music, and musicians, to poetry, to scientists. Also there isn't any of those clichés when it comes to vampires, of their struggles to drink human blood but can't blah blah blah. 

Like I said above it doesn't happen anything extraordinary and I've read a few review that said nothing happens in the movie, but in fact stuff does happen, it's just the way they deal with that stuff that makes it seem that way. They've been alive for centuries they're not going to make a big deal out of anything.

The movie is set on Detroit and Tanger, and those cities give a nice vibe to the movie. Especially since it's only filmed at night, we all know there's something about night and few people on the streets that make things magical. Well at least for me.

Tilda Swinton just looks gorgeous in this movie. She is gorgeous, but the last movies I saw with her, she had a major transformation, Snowpiercer and The Grand Budapest Hotel, so it's nice to see her beautiful face again.

It's not a movie for anyone, I watched it with my brother warning him it was a calm movie and even so he fell asleep. So beware, even so, if you like calm movies that almost look like indie this is for you.
