Don Jon

A New Jersey guy dedicated to his family, friends, and church, develops unrealistic expectations from watching porn and works to find happiness and intimacy with his potential true love.

This is the first written and directed movie by Joseph Gordon-Levitt and it's a very good one. It is very different from everything I ever seen, and has more into it than a guy finding what real relationships are about.
JGL did an amazing job portraying how women are seen in our society, and how movies and what we see on tv affects our ideas. Just by the opening sequence I knew he would tackle that issue, and he did it in a subtle but brilliant way. And not just women but how we have unrealistic expectations of relationships, and how we want to mould our partner to fit us.

Both JGL and Scarlett had amazing performances in here. She was great, she transformed herself so much at one point I had to remind myself she isn't like this. On a side-note it's great seeing her working in indie movies again.
I'm really looking forward to see what JGL is going to bring us next.

It's a great movie and I highly recommend it, if you haven't seen it already. And if you have, what are your thoughts? Was the satire not obvious enough?
